Nature is the purest beauty, but beauty can be dangerous. We at Menjo would rather you be safe and secure in your journeys throughout this world than buy our products, so we wanted our site not to be “Buy Buy Buy” but instead, a free resource to help all those beginning their pilgrimage and a refresher for those already 40 million steps deep.
- Survival Rule of 3 (all aproximates).
- 1. 3 minutes of breathable air
- 2. 3 hours in extreme heat/cold
- 3. 3 days without water
- 4. 3 weeks without food
The rule of 3, like most rules, is only a guideline. Personally, I still remember it because it helps us prioritise things. When you go for a run, and you are on minute 40, you have stopped caring about food. All you care about at that moment is breathing, getting that next burst of air into your lungs. Your body is reminding you of priorities and needs over wants. When it comes to survival, needs have to beat wants. This means if you are on a mountain and oxygen is getting thin, it does not matter how cold or tired you are. You get to a breathable steady supply of air ASAP. It is not about “manhood” or strength because, as we say, only the strong survive. Real strength is about knowing when to take a step back and regroup.
Roughly 1.2% of the world’s water is drinkable
While you can survive three days without water, it does not mean you will be able-bodied for three days. Dehydration will settle in quickly, which means confusion, dizziness and exhaustion
